The kittiwake orphanage live stream is back on YouTube! If you've adopted a kittiwake chick, you now can watch them 24/7. Let us know if you see one has jumped out of its box!
The black-legged kittiwake is listed as Endangered on Norway's Red List and faces a high risk of extinction on the Norwegian mainland. Before they are able to fly, chicks sometimes fall from their nests. Those ones have no chance of surviving, as their parents will only feed and care for them while they remain in the nest.
With the help of volunteers, we rescue these unfortunate chicks, take care of them, feed them, ring them and release them once they are ready.
For the second year in a row, viewers from around the world can see what happens in the rescued kittiwake orphanage.
