Welcome to the 2026 edition of A Helping Hand to Senja!

Note that a second site is added (Fjordgård/Segla/Hesten) with the participation of Senja Municipality (more details in this article).

This initiative is rooted in the Norwegian concept of dugnad, a tradition of voluntary community work where people come together to contribute time and effort for the common good. In this spirit, both locals and visitors will join forces to make a meaningful difference for nature, 300 km north of the Arctic Circle.

You can sign up for one of these 2 sites, depending on your availability and interests:

• Site 1: Ånderdalen National Park, 6 full days (Sunday 26 July - Sunday 2 August)

• Site 2: Fjordgård/Segla/Hesten, 2 fulldays (Thursday 30 - Sunday 2 August)

How much does it cost?

A registration fee of NOK 1,500 will be required, primarily to reduce the likelihood of last-minute cancellations. The fee will be used to cover food, transport, and equipment for participants.

Apply now:

15 participants will join in Ånderdalen National Park.

10 participants will join in Fjordgård/Segla/Hesten.
