About the event

About 80 students from Kongsbakken videregående skole are joining this event today.

Ismaele Tortella will be here with us to show his latest work: "Stone Biter: Saving the Arctic Sea Forests", a short documentary that dives beneath the surface of Northern Norway’s ocean to uncover the silent collapse of Arctic kelp forests, and the people working to restore them.

After the film, we’ll talk about the behind-the-scenes with Ismaele, and about kelp forest restoration, finding inspiration in the ongoing efforts led by Rissa Citizen Science in Tromsø.

What is an urchin barrens?

Why are sea urchins overgrazing their own habitat?

Can we restore kelp forests?
