About the event

A large patch of the forest is under threat.

Join and help us capture the beauty of nature before it disappears.

To oppose, if it is still time.

To remember, if it is too late.

To confront absurdity and greed.

You can borrow snowshoes from us.

Despite opposition from Statensvegvesen, Tromsø Airport and the many people using the forest to walk their dog, run, ski or simply enjoy nature, developers are pushing and lobbying to convert another chunk of the ever-shrinking forest on Tromsøya into appartment buildings and the various infrastructures that come with such destructive projects (roads, water inlets, sewage, light pollution, etc.).

New apartments are not needed in Tromsø, if less were turned into lucrative Airbnbs for tourists.

This patch of forest is also one of the oldest and least light-polluted on Tromsøya, a precious piece of nature for all of us. Will it be permanently lost to urban developers

While the world is turning Green to Grey (https://greentogrey.eu/), while nature loss accelarates (https://www.nina.no/english/globalnatureloss), nature in Tromsø keeps being devoured by urban development.
