Owl nestboxes: first spring check!

You don't have snowshoes? Don't worry, we can lend you a pair!

Just be aware that the terrain can be quite steep, and we're going off the beaten paths.

The exact meeting point will be decided and communciated before the event.

If the weather is bad (rain), we might cancel, but if you have signed up, we will let you know the day before.

Tengmalm owls and hawk owls are most likely to use these nestboxes. But we never know what we can find! Squirrel, goldeneye duck, passerine, marten etc. they all look for cavities in trees, and these are rare in nature, considering that trees are logged before they get old and large. We will listen and learn bird songs, and if the snow is good, we will look for animal tracks for the FOOTRPINTS project (https://www.rissa-cs.org/project-footprints)
